Lavender Mermaid Tear Sea Glass Necklace

This small beautiful piece of sea glass has a slight lavender hue. Did you know sea glass is also called "Mermaid Tears" based on a few legends? One legend states that mermaids shed tears every time a sailor dies. A more in depth tale outlines a mermaid that used her magic to save a sailor she fell in love with. She was then banished to the bottom of the sea where she still cries these magical tears of glass.

This piece was hand picked from the beaches of Lubec, Maine and features a silver plated Mermaid. The chain is an 18 inch silver plated chain with a lobster clasp.
